Game Review – Xenoshyft Onslaught

Here is our review of Xenoshyft Onslaught.

The game has you take on the role of one of the divisions of NorTec Corporation.  In the far far future where years have letters and numbers like Z5Y34, humanity has spread across the galaxy using a crystalline substance called xenosathem.

The good news about xenosathem is that it allows hyperadvanced technology, the bad news is that it mutates the local fauna into giant monstrosities that want to destroy you.

Its a cooperative deck building game modelled after tower defense games.  You and your other divisions try your best to hold off increasingly more powerful monsters while developing more and more advanced troops and equipment.

The game is fun in the same line as other CoolMiniorNot games that are based on bringing video game genres to the tabletop, and this is one of the best implementations I’ve played yet.  This is possibly because I play a  lot of tower defense games, but I really think that the game is just good in general.

There are 3 waves with each wave unlocking more powerful equipment but has you facing more powerful foes. Each wave consists of 3 rounds each, for a total of 9 rounds of gameplay. "
